**My review contains spoilers**Anna has moved back to her hometown in California from Australia where she moved years ago to get cancer treatment by the best doctors. Now that she's in remission she's ready to move back home to work as a physical therapist. She's also hoping to reunite with her first love, Hunter.
Hunter is an MMA fighter who now has to go to a new physical therapist for his knee since his old PT is no longer available. This is where Hunter and Anna reconnect. Hunter has always thought of Anna as the one who got away and he wastes no time trying to start something up with her again. There's only one catch...he's married and has a daughter.
I had a lot of problems with this book:
** Even though the marriage isn't what it seems I don't understand why Hunter would keep his daughter a secret. She should be his pride and joy.
** Hunter and Anna were declaring their love way too quickly. It was like no time had passed and they were both keeping way too many secrets for it to work out. It didn't feel real.
** But it did work out. They were so many opportunities for conflict in this story but the author chose not to make it happen. Anna was even okay with Hunter being married. Are you kidding me?
** The storyline with the ex-boyfriend/arch nemesis was a joke. He was portrayed like a cartoon villain. It was ridiculous.
** I was confused by the random paragraphs that were italicized yet the flashback paragraphs were not. It was distracting and just wrong.
Overall the story was very unoriginal and juvenile. Very forgettable.

Last Chance To Fight eBook Ava Ashley Reviews
A nice read, the lead characters worked through some tough issues so it wasn't a straight forward romance story. I did like it but felt some of the vocal interaction of the lead couple seemed slightly...shallow maybe for the situations or maybe mellow or too polite in their anger or I'm not sure but I just thought that could have had more impact somehow. Still a good read though.
MMA I'm thinking pure alpha, take charge, amused by fiesty claimed woman. Hot ripped guy on cover check, masculine name Hunter check, MMA fighter excessive testosterone levels check & check.
So it was a little weird reading this at times. It's great that Anna was assertive but two times she went toe to toe with a psycho fighter & her man was there behind her. Also she took over in the bedroom & their conversations as Hunter was to worried he'd loose her.
I guess I expecting something else.
Sadly this book was one of the least favorite reads I've encountered. The writing was juvenile and "sappy". If the author eliminated the sex scenes, it would have been appropriate for a teenager. I struggled to finish it but I have a personal rule to give every book I start a chance to improve with time...this one was consistently boring. Hunter was a wuss...totally wrong personality for a fighter and Anna was too good to be true. No healthy female would accept and forgive as though everything her partner did wrong was "no big deal". I have no intention of purchasing books by this author in the future.
There was no way I could put this down. Last Chance to Fight kept me engaged from start to finish. The emotions of the characters and the descriptions of the action was great. As a martial artist and a hopeless romantic this was the perfect book for me. I could really get into the characters and found myself eagerly turning the pages.
When the pages stopped turning, I did find myself a little disappointed. Only because I wanted to see more, and you're never really satisfied with an ending. The author did a wonderful job and I look forward to reading more of her work. This was a really, really great read and I highly recommend it.
Last Chance to Fight is a thrilling romance full of passion and suspense. Author Ava Ashley takes command of the romance genre with her expressive writing, engaging dialogue and hot sex scenes. Anna and Hunter are fully developed characters easy to root for and become attached to. Their chemistry brings the story to life as you hope they end up together. My only complaint, which is minor and easy to overlook, is the editing could have been better. There are a number of instances where words are split by a space.
Anna breaks up with her high school sweetheart Hunter when she discovers she has cancer and has less than ten percent chance of surviving. Nine years later Anna has survived cancer and moves to LA ready to start her career as a sports physical therapist. While Anna is reviewing her patient’s records prior to starting work she discovers that Hunter is going to be one of them. Hunter is an MMA fighter who has suffered a broken ankle. He learns he has a new physical therapist named Anna but can’t believe it when he discovers it is his high school sweetheart. Immediately he is drawn to her just as he always has been. Anna is excited by Hunter and wonders whether they can have a future after everything that has happened (and there is more that Anna doesn’t know about). The suspense mounts as we wait to see if they will find love with each other again. This is one romance you will not want to miss. I highly recommend it!
I loved this book! The author, Ava Ashley, has created a contemporary romance with some really lovable characters with complicated issues. My favorite aspect of this book is the author’s exquisite descriptions of the electric energy between Anna and Hunter. You can literally feel the crackling between the main characters; their attraction to each other is so real and so strong, it transcends the limitations of the page and fills the room. The author did a very nice job of creating a romance that is so hot, so descriptive; it is a stellar recounting of a love that surpasses everything that has become mundane about today’s works of romantic fiction. My only regret is that there wasn’t a bit more steam in Anna and Hunter’s physical encounters, but that’s easy to overlook when the storyline is so compelling.
